`Lost' Watch: Sun has a baby girl, but what happened to Jin?

by Laura DeMarco/Plain Dealer Pop Culture Editor
    Friday March 14, 2008, 12:46 PM

ABC's "Lost" has inspired legions of fans and chat boards with its intricate mythology. Each Saturday, we update you on our latest observations. E-mail yours to ldemarco@plaind.com.

Clues and Easter eggs (and red herrings?): We learn who one more member of the Oceanic Six is in Thursday's Sun-and-Jin-centric episode. In the future, Sun goes into labor to deliver a girl; Jin seems to be on his way to her, but we eventually learn his scenes are really from the past and that he dies sometime before Sun gives birth. But did he? The date on his grave is 9/22/2004, the date of the Oceanic crash. Since we know he survived this, is he still alive on the island? In the present on the island, Sun and Jin are torn about whether to go with Locke or to try to leave the island, even though they don't trust the freighter people. An even bigger shocker, though, is the return of Michael, whom we see working under an assumed name on the boat (and, most likely, as Ben's spy). Easter eggs include Regina (who later kills herself) reading Jules Verne's "The Survivors of the Chancellor," about the survivors of a shipwreck who go mad.

More mysteries: How -- and when -- did Jin die? Or did he? How did Michael get onto the freighter? Where's Walt? And why are the people on the freighter going crazy?
