The Fabulous Food show mixes celeb chefs with an emphasis on local growers, producers

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland rocks, and, man, it cooks, too. So pull up a chair at this weekend's Fabulous Food Show at the International Exposition Center in Cleveland, right next to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
Once again, nationally known chefs will take the stage, bringing skills, supersize personalities and all that Food Network glitter along with them.
Grill man Bobby Flay (Sunday, Nov. 15), shortcutter Sandra Lee (Friday, Nov. 13), kitchen tutor Tyler Florence (Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14) and California-dude Guy Fieri (Saturday, Nov. 14) will alternate on the biggest stages with homeboy Iron Chef, Michael Symon (Saturday and Sunday, Nov.14-15).
Thoughtful perfectionist Thomas Keller stops by for a single appearance (Friday, Nov. 13) in a conversation with his cookbook writer, Michael Ruhlman of Cleveland Heights.
Increasingly, the Fab is going deeper than celebrity to showcase our vital local food community and to harvest ideas from the top chefs and food producers in the region. Expect to gather recipe ideas for the holidays and beyond, learn techniques for a smoother life in the kitchen, and to taste new foods from eager entrepreneurs and some of the best local restaurants.
A one-day, advance-purchase ticket is $25, which gives you a seat at your favorite chef's show and a chance for a seat at a second show. See the accompanying information box for discounts from Giant Eagle and North Union Farmers Market, both sponsors of some of the show's programming.
Wow. A mega-size supermarket chain and field-to-table advocate participating in the same event. Stop by and see how this diverse grazing feast comes together.

$27.50 plus 8 bucks to park plus fees to sample wine and food. BUST !!
Actually the Food Show is really good and a lot of fun. And the only fees for food are from the specialty areas -- there are hundreds of vendors set up around the IX Center with free samples. The majority of the vendors are local, which is a great way to increase business of our local food producers and help the local economy. It's well worth the ticket, especially since you get to walk around the show AND see a celebrity show in that price.
A few years ago the Food Show was pretty good, but sometimes very crowded. Last year I was disappointed. All they really had to sample was dips. (You know the little dry mixes you add to mayo for appitizers.) The celeb chef demos are okay if you are ga-ga over the chef. Watching them cook on TV or using their cookbooks is reallly much better. The wine tasting is good, but an additional fee.
If you go to the food show's website you can print a $10 off coupon for today.
lebald.. your a fool. Your attitude is the problem with this town. The food show and the idea that Cleveland has a lot to offer when it comes to unique food is a great selling point for the city. This food show is profitable and people love it. Price is set by demand. Every time something costs money or does well in this town it has to be a scam or a problem. Thank you Roni for the additional comment regarding the coupon. Simply do not go if you cannot afford it but please support events in our town that actually do bring in quality talent and a great show.
