Ward 3 Councilman Mark Roth raised objections to an ordinance to purchase all the city's insurance coverage for 2010, at a City Council finance committee meeting on Monday. Roth said the city’s current system, in which it purchases all necessary coverage through a private insurance broker, is inefficient. Roth said he would prefer that the city use a public-bid process, in which several insurance companies could compete for Strongsville’s business.  Full story »

The Strongsville Center Middle School eighth-grade volleyball team wrapped up its 2009 season with a perfect 17-0 record after capturing the championship in the NOCMSL Conference tournament.
