BROOKLYN HTS. COMPLAINT, TUXEDO AVENUE:A Tuxedo Avenue resident called police Sunday to complain about a pickup truck speeding. The resident said it almost is a daily occurrence. WARRANT, TUXEDO AVENUE:A Cleveland man was turned over to the police department by Parma Police on an outstanding warrant Sunday. ACCIDENT, INTERSTATE 480: The driver of a vehicle traveling east Saturday on I-480 reported hitting a deer. Police provided the driver with a late accident report. SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE, VAN EPPS ROAD:A suspicious vehicle was reported Saturday near the Conrail tracks. The man in the vehicle told police he was just a "train watcher." He was advised to vacate the area, and complied. WARRANT, TUXEDO AVENUE:A Cleveland man wanted on a warrant was turned over to the police department Saturday by Brooklyn police. DEBRIS, I-480:Police removed debris from the roadway Jan. 2 on I-480 East. Metal strips, which may have fallen from a passing truck, were moved off to the side of the road. DISABLED BUS, I-480:Police assisted the driver of a bus westbound on I-480 with a flat tire Jan. 1. The officer provided assistance and traffic control was maintained while tire was changed.

INDEPENDENCE DUIA, INTERSTATE 480:A vehicle spun out on the freeway Dec. 28. When police arrived, the driver was standing by the door with the keys in his hand.

Valley View: Teen told to cease harassing calls, texts
VALLEY VIEW HARASSMENT, HATHAWAY ROAD:A Hathaway Road resident reported Dec. 30 that her 16-year-old son received harassing phone and text messages from a 17-year-old Independence male. Both boys were involved in a fight, and the Independence suspect's parents had filed a complaint against the Valley View resident for criminal mischief. The Valley View mother filed the report because of the continuing harassment. The Independence mother was told to tell her son to cease all communication with the Valley View resident. PROPERTY DAMAGE, INTERSTATE 480:A vehicle headed west Dec. 31 on the I-480 bridge was struck by a tarp from the truck in front of it. The woman's vehicle sustained damage to the front driver's side bumper. The driver thought she had written down the correct license number of the truck, but a dispatcher was unable to locate the owner based on her information.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE, SOUTH STREET: Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle Dec. 26 on South Street, but the street was clear upon their arrival. RECKLESS DRIVER, I-480:Police responded to reports of a reckless driver on Dec. 24 on I-480, but none was found. ACCIDENT ASSISTANCE, GRANGER AND TUXEDO:Officers helped a motorist involved in a spin-out accident in Independence. ROAD CLOSINGS:Police assisted officers from Independence and Cleveland on Dec. 23 in closing roadways due to icy conditions. BUILDING SEARCH, KEYNOTE CIRCLE: An officer noticed an open door Dec. 23 on Keynote Circle while patrolling the area. The building was checked, found safe and the door was secured. UNWANTED GUEST, WEST FIFTH: Police were called regarding an unwanted guest Dec. 23 on West Fifth Street. The woman left before police arrived. CAR ACCIDENT, I-480:A car slammed into a guardrail Dec. 22 on Interstate 480 East, but no injuries were reported. DRUNK DRIVER, I-480:Police failed to find a possible drunken driver Dec. 19 who was reported to be driving on I-480. WRONG WAY DRIVER, I-480:Police heard reports Dec. 18 of a driver going east in the westbound lanes of I-480, but were unable to find the car.

INDEPENDENCE ASSAULT, INTERESTATE 77:On Dec. 23, a car spun out and hit the wall blocking the left lane of I-77. Then, another call came in: a second car was in an accident on the freeway near milepost 157.

BROOKLYN HTS. GLASS IN ROADWAY, TUXEDO DRIVE:A resident reported a large amount of broken glass in the roadway Sunday at the intersection of West Eighth Street and Tuxedo. The village service was called for cleanup. RECKLESS DRIVER, I-480:The driver of a vehicle traveling east Saturday on Interstate 480 reported a reckless driver operating another vehicle. It turned out to be a car dealer and a passenger test-driving a vehicle for possible sale. They were advised to use another method of test driving. ACCIDENT, I-480:A minor motor vehicle accident was reported Saturday on I-480 westbound. Drivers of both vehicles involved were furnished with late accident reports. DISABLED VEHICLE, GRANGER ROAD:Police assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle Dec. 11 on Granger Road. The vehicle had a flat tire, and since it was near the I-480 westbound exit, the officer helped the motorist fix the flat tire. THEFT, VALLEY BELT ROAD:An employee at a Valley Belt Road business reported a laptop computer missing from the office Dec. 10. HARASSMENT, TUXEDO AVENUE: A resident on Tuxedo Avenue filed a complaint about a series of harassing phone calls Dec. 9. The parties involved were advised to keep a log of the calls.

Valley View: Man cited for leaving open container outside restaurant
VALLEY VIEW OPEN CONTAINER, GRANGER ROAD:A police officer patrolling the northern end of the village Friday noticed a vehicle without a lighted rear license plate pull into the Big Boy Restaurant parking lot. He followed the vehicle into the lot and saw two men get out of the vehicle and begin walking to the front door. One of the men held an open bottle of beer, and placed the bottle next to a pillar by the front door before entering the restaurant. The officer followed the men inside and asked the one who had the beer bottle to step outside. He was cited for having an open container and advised on littering. VANDALISM, STRATHMORE DRIVE:A Strathmore Driver resident came to the station Dec. 10 to report his mailbox was damaged. He told police that, when he left for work early that morning, he noticed his mailbox was run over and there were tire tracks across his lawn. COUNTERFEITING, CANAL ROAD: A male customer at Cinemark Valley View tried to buy movie tickets with a counterfeit $20 bill. The box office person could tell it was counterfeit and called police. When the officer asked the man where he got the phony bill, the man said he received it from a friend. The case was turned over to the Valley View Police Department Detective Bureau.

BRECKSVILLE CAR ENTERED, DEER RUN: Sometime after 6:30 p.m. Friday, an unknown person pried their way into a late model Chevy Impala parked on Deer Run.

BROADVIEW HTS. UNDERAGE PARTY, CHAPMAN WAY: A neighbor, concerned there was an unsupervised juvenile party in progress, called police Saturday evening to make them aware of the situation.

Brooklyn Heights: Disabled semi receives assistance
BROOKLYN HTS. DISABLED SEMI, I-480: Police assisted the driver of a disabled semi headed east Sunday on Interstate 480. His vehicle broke down by the side of the road. WARRANT, TUXEDO AVENUE: Linndale police turned over a Cleveland man to Brooklyn Heights police on an outstanding warrant Friday. ACCIDENT, BROOKPARK ROAD: A truck hit the concrete median Dec. 4 on Brookpark Road. Police helped the driver, who was unharmed. WARRANT, TUXEDO AVENUE: On Dec. 4, the Cleveland House of Corrections turned over a Cleveland woman wanted by the Brooklyn Heights police. PARKING COMPLAINT, SPRING ROAD: Police followed up on a complaint about parking Dec. 3 at a Spring Road business. The manager of the business was told to put up "employee only" parking signs. THEFT, SPRING ROAD: A landscaping company trailer was reported stolen Dec. 2 from a Spring Road business.

INDEPENDENCE ATTEMPTED ASSAULT, ROCKSIDE ROAD: A Brecksville resident went to the Independence Police Department to report an incident that occurred Dec. 4 on Rockside Road.

Valley View: Vehicle stolen from Exchange Street
VALLEY VIEW GRAND THEFT VEHICLE, EXCHANGE STREET: The owner of a business on Exchange Street reported a vehicle stolen from his lot Dec. 2. He said he's had several vehicles stolen from his property over the years. On Dec. 3, he was notified that the vehicle was parked at East 93 Street and Woodland Avenue. Cleveland police were contacted. The vehicle's steering column was "peeled" and its snowplow assembly was gone. THEFT, SWEET VALLEY DRIVE: The owner of a business on Sweet Valley Drive reported that $820 in cash and $3,700 in checks were taken from a money drawer Nov. 29. There are two male suspects.
