    Monday October 13, 2008, 8:47 AM

The University of Central Oklahoma opened its hockey season two weeks ago with a familiar face in sophomore defenseman Mike Haszto, a native of North Ridgeville and an Elyria Catholic graduate who rejoined the team after a year off in a move to Phoenix. Re-enrolling back at UCO this year, Haszto has regained his spot as No. 1 defenseman and will also lead the power play and penalty kill untis for the Division I Bronchos.

During their opening weekend, which brought the University of St. Louis to town, Haszto netted goal No. 3 for UCO on a blistering slap shot from the point. The first game was a 5-2 victory over the Billikens. The next night's rematch brought a dominant thrashing of St. Louis, 9-2. In that game, Haszto scored two goals and assisted on another.
