Cuyahoga Valley National Park: A wide variety of habitats translates into a plethora of birds, such as blue-winged warblers at the tree farm, ducks and rails at the Ira Road beaver pond, and sparrows, meadowlarks and snipe at the Coliseum grasslands. Hinckley: There’s more to Hinckley than buzzards. The ledges host nesting waterthrush, and the woodland trails come alive with singing hooded and cerulean warblers in June. Also look for the variety of waterfowl that frequent the 90-acre Hinckley Lake. Lake Rockwell: Sightings of gadwall and northern pintail have been reported. With the nearby Lake Pippen, this is one of the best inland waterfowl-watching sites on the southeast part of the region. Lake Pippen: Look for bald eagle pairs. Tinkers Creek State Nature Preserve: Has hosted nesting bald eagles in recent years. This 786-acre preserve has seven ponds and marshlands. View heron, nesting waterfowl, and songbirds.
