Birds, Birds, Birds

Do you have scrap material?
Do you have a needle and some thread?
Do you have about 30 minutes?
These are the most darling things ever!
I took all of our scrap material and since this pattern takes SO little material, you soon too will turn out the pieces for hundreds of birds!
Since I'm not going to advise that you let the littles use a needle and thread, instead let them get involved in the choosing and matching of the little belly and the bird's body.
If you're anything like me, the anal-ness of my personality come into play and I had to bite my tongue to not second-guess the choices that were made (belly fabrics that don't seem to go with the body fabrics).
I instead simply starting sewing and wouldn't you know it, they turned out so precious!
We chose not to fill the birds with stuffing, and instead used rice.
These have become our childrens' new favorite "doll babies." I find our rice-stuffed birds everywhere! In our kitchen cupboards, perched on the bathtub, sitting on the laundry pile.
Make yourself some!
