OLMSTED TWP. UNDERAGE DRINKING:Police pulled over a vehicle for driving with one headlight. While the officer was speaking with driver, he noticed an open can of beer between the passenger's feet.

MIDDLEBURG HTS. CRIMINAL DAMAGE:An Indian Creek Drive resident called police to report that his front lawn had been turfed. He described the car that had torn up the lawn, and his girlfriend suspected that the culprit was her ex-boyfriend.

Drunken man refuses to pay full fare for his ride home
BEREA THEFT:A cab driver called police the morning of Jan. 3 when a Clay Court man declined to pay the fare for his trip home from a Lakewood bar.

OLMSTED FALLS THEFT:A man reported that two of his personal checks had been taken by his son, who had made them out to himself and cashed them.

Sibling rivalry turns to family feud at Brook Park residence
BROOK PARK DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:Brothers and sisters don't always grow out of stages. Police were called to a Robert Drive home because of a family domestic disturbance. The sister, 18, allegedly hit her brother with a bat, and the brother, 20, choked her. ANIMAL BITE:There was a classic case of mailman versus dog this week. The mailman was bitten on the hand by a dog running loose along Settlement Acres. VANDALISM:An unknown person spray-painted a red bow on the driver's side of a car. Damage is estimated at $700. ASSAULT:A female bartender at the Englebrook Tavern was reportedly punched in the face two or three times by a female customer. The suspect is from Cleveland. No arrest was made. DISORDERLY CONDUCT:A 47-year-old Brook Park man was arrested for yelling obscene and profane language while standing in the middle of Ledgewood Drive. VIOLATION:A female dancer at GiGi's Lounge, cited for violating the no touching ordinance while performing, was arrested because of an active warrant through the Cleveland police. A dancer at the Fox's Den also violated the ordinance. SHOPLIFTING:An intoxicated Brook Park man was arrested for stealing $29 worth of beer from the Marathon gas station on Smith Road. DISORDERLY CONDUCT:A Parma man was arrested for urinating in the Days Inn parking lot. DISORDERLY CONDUCT:An intoxicated Lakewood man was arrested after being observed by an officer stumbling and falling in the westbound lanes along Brookpark Road. BURGLARY:S&R Produce was broken into and $1,500 was stolen from the business over the New Year's holiday. THEFT:Mulch and More reported a plow pump was stolen from one of its vehicles. PROPERTY DAMAGE:An unknown person damaged a sliding glass door at an Eavenson Boulevard home. THEFT:Money was reported missing from a McDonald's night deposit bag. THEFT:Four tires and rims were stolen from a vehicle parked behind a fence on West 137th Street.

OLMSTED FALLS ASSAULT:Village of the Falls called police to report a violent resident who had beaten another resident very badly.

Drunk arrested after striking wife with tube of gift paper
BROOK PARK DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:A Brook Park man spent Christmas Eve in jail after he came home intoxicated and started arguing and abusing his wife. The man first struck his wife with his fist, and then he grabbed a tube of wrapping paper and struck his wife in the back with it several times. THEFT:Valley Freightliner reported losing $2.2 million after purchasing trucks that were never delivered. The case has been referred to the FBI. CHILD ENDANGERMENT:A man was issued a summons for leaving his two children -- a 1-year-old and a 10-year-old -- in the car unattended in 7 degree weather for more than 10 minutes while he shopped at Marc's Deeper Discount Store. SHOPLIFTING:A 35-year-old Cleveland woman was arrested for attempting to steal Kool-Aid, mayonnaise, ice cream toppings, vegetable oil and dish soap from Giant Eagle. ASSAULT:A Brook Park man was arrested for assaulting his daughter's boyfriend. The woman, 19, had invited the friend to her home. Her father did not approve of the way the man, 20, touched his daughter's shoulder, so he attacked the man with a closed fist and kicked him in the head. CRIMINAL STIMULATION:A 15-year-old attempted to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit $50 bill at the Circle K on Engle Road. THEFT:A car was reported stolen from the Greater Cleveland Auto Auction on Engle Road. DISORDERLY CONDUCT:Two people were excessively drunk in front of Harpo's. They resisted arrest when police tried to apprehend them. One was from Lorain and the other from Cleveland.

OLMSTED TWP. PROPERTY DAMAGE:A Wheaton Drive resident called police to report that a driver had knocked over two mailboxes on the street.

Man returns debit card left in ATM machine plus $100
MIDDLEBURG HTS. THEFT:A woman forgot her bank card in the Giant Eagle ATM machine, and did not discover it missing until the next day. When she finally found out it was missing, $100 had been taken from her account.

BEREA THEFT:A Marc's employee learned the hard way on Dec. 28 that she should never leave her wallet unattended.

on his way to classes OLMSTED TWP. DRUGS:An Olmsted Falls High School student admitted to taking three tabs of LSD before coming to school. Paramedics took him to the hospital. BURGLARY:Two houses on Brentwood Drive were burglarized Dec. 19.

Man's joy ride of sorts leaves a woman driver disgusted
BROOK PARK INDECENCY:A woman filed a report because she noticed a male driver masturbating in another vehicle while traveling on Interstate 71. BREAKING AND ENTERING:An unknown person entered a locked residence on Glenway Drive. But the person didn't steal anything, just redecorated. The victim said picture frames were moved from a shelf to a couch. An inside kitchen window pane was damaged. THEFT:Someone stole eight tires and rims from a semi truck parked on Brookpark Road. The wheels were worth $6,500. THEFT:Two vehicles were stolen from the front lot at the Greater Cleveland Auto Auction. HARASSMENT:A man said he's received hundreds of annoying calls to his cell phone from his ex-girlfriend. HARASSMENT:Another man reported receiving harassing messages on his Myspace Web account. VIOLATION:An adult entertainer was issued a summons for violating the no-touch ordinance while performing semi nude. SHOPLIFTING:A man stole beer from Giant Eagle. SHOPLIFTING:A Cleveland man attempted to steal hot soup from Giant Eagle but was unsuccessful. THEFT:Three lockers were broken into at the rec. The thief cut the lock off two of the lockers and stole a total of $160. DISORDERLY CONDUCT:An intoxicated Cleveland man was observed stumbling across the roadway on Brookpark Road. He was arrested. THEFT:Someone damaged an electronic coin-game machine while stealing money from it at Whisker's Pub on Smith Road. THEFT:A woman reported that her car was stolen from the Farmer's Insurance agency on Smith Road. The car was recovered.

MIDDLEBURG HTS. ASSAULT:Two teenagers came to the police station claiming they were walking down the street when an older man pulled up next to them, accused them of throwing snowballs at his house and punched one of them. They denied throwing the snowballs.

OLMSTED FALLS TRAFFIC:A woman called to report that a van usually drives very fast down Ironwood in the mornings, and, on this day, it almost hit children getting onto the school bus.

Woman gets rude awakening as she witnesses car theft
BEREA THEFT:A Walnut Drive woman awoke the night of Dec. 18 to see a young man inside her mother's car, which was parked outside. The woman yelled at the man and tried to chase after him.

Driver has glassy eyes, slurred speech and no clue
MIDDLEBURG HTS. TRAFFIC:An officer pulled a speeding vehicle over in a Smith Road driveway. Although the driver had glassy eyes, slurred speech and a marijuana pipe sitting on the front console, he would not admit to smoking marijuana or drinking.

Police officer serves wake-up call to sleepy kid
OLMSTED FALLS JUVENILE:A woman called 911 to report that her son would not get out of bed for school. The reporting officer was able to get the child out of bed and off to school. BREAKING AND ENTERING:An officer reported that the alarm at the Sunoco gas station was going off, and a man dressed in black was running into the woods. The gas station's front window was broken. STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY:Police found a vehicle reported stolen from Parma crashed into a pole on Columbia Road.

BEREA THEFT:A woman at Scoundrel's bar on Front Street reported Dec. 13 that her purse was stolen as she bent down to fix her shoe.

OLMSTED TWP. COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY:Officers responded to Shaker's IGA after a customer's $100 bill failed the counterfeit pen test.

BROOK PARK BURGLARY:Three homes have been burglarized recently.

35-year-old grandson steals money from live-in grandma
BROOK PARK THEFT:A woman called police to inform them that her nephew, 35, stole $620 from his grandmother sometime between Nov. 16 and Dec. 2. The man lives with his grandmother. SHOPLIFTING:An unknown man stole two DVDs from the Adult Mart on Brookpark Road. They were worth $60. THEFT:A car was broken into and some items taken while parked at Milano Monuments during business hours. THEFT:A Brook Park woman's locked car was broken into while parked at Marc's Deeper Discount Store. Three video games and a board game, worth about $165 total, were stolen. DUI:A 31-year-old Cleveland man, stopped for a routine traffic violation on Engle Road, was found to be intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. TRESPASS:A 13-year-old boy was arrested for trespassing on railroad property on Holland Road. He was arrested at about 2 a.m., so he was also charged with breaking curfew and loitering. THEFT:A man filed a report after he bought a car over the Internet for $2,500 but never received the vehicle. CRIMINAL DAMAGE:Someone threw a padlock through a woman's window on Brookpark Road. SHOPLIFTING:A 42-year-old Middleburg Heights man attempted to leave Marc's without paying for his groceries. He was arrested. THEFT:A saw worth $129 was taken from a garage on Engle Road.

MIDDLEBURG HTS. THEFT:A driver near Gabriel Brothers saw two men run from the store as two other men chased them, yelling that they were calling police. The fleeing men jumped into a car and drove away.

Falls police investigate disturbance at restaurant
OLMSTED FALLS DISTURBANCE:A woman reported that three restaurant employees had assaulted her and her two friends. She said that men had thrown boxes at them.

BEREA CAR DAMAGE:A Strongsville couple reported their car was damaged while they shopped at Giant Eagle Dec. 2.

Vandalism reported at apartment door
OLMSTED TWP. VANDALISM:An Evergreen Farms man reported that someone had vandalized the entry door to his apartment with vulgar graffiti. THEFT FROM VEHICLE:A Pondside Point resident reported that items were stolen from his unlocked car. A digital camera, memory card and a set of keys were all taken.
