MIDDLEBURG HTS. The third teen involved in throwing bricks off bridges onto interstate highways has been sentenced to six months minimum at the Ohio Department of Youth Services.
Jeff Dynda, 17, of Middleburg Heights, was the third and last teen to be sentenced in the brick-throwing case. He was charged with 26 felony and misdemeanor counts.
He is charged with:
Nine counts of criminal damaging, second degree misdemeanor; one count of criminal mischief, third degree misdemeanor; six counts of vandalism, fifth degree felony; one count of possession of criminal tools, fifth degree felony; one count of vehicle vandalism, a third degree felony; one count of theft, a fourth degree felony; two counts of theft, fifth degree felony; three counts of theft, a first degree misdemeanor; one count of vandalism, a fourth degree felony; one count of arson, a fourth degree felony.
According to Ryan Miday, of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors office, the theft counts relate to items that Dynda and his co-defendants stole, including a vehicle, golf clubs and credit cards.
Chad Noureddine, 16, of Brook Park, earlier was sentenced to six months in detention that he won't have to serve that if he performs 60 hours of community service. He will be placed on probation and will be required to make restitution of about $1,000 and write apologies to about 40 victims for his crimes. He is also not to have any contact with his two co-defendants.
Adam George, 15, of Middleburg Heights, owes $4,000 in restitution and was given the same sentence as Noureddine.
Dynda, Noureddine and George damaged more than 40 cars in March on Interstates 71 and 77 and the Ohio Turnpike going through Strongsville, Brecksville, Independence and Westlake. One driver was injured.
