Romance, surprise ending punctuates Lila Shaara's
'Fortune Teller's Daughter'
guessed the identity of the killer early on in The
Fortune Teller's Daughter (Bal lantine, 436 pp., $25), but
the dramatic twist at the end shocked and surprised me. I
predict it will throw you as well. Beautifully written, this
novel checks in at the end of 2008 as one of the best mysteries
of the year.
