    Man uses pipe to cause leak in former girlfriend's house

    MAPLE HTS. ASSAULT, GRANGER ROAD:Authorities are considering charges against a man who used a pipe to leak natural gas in the house of a former girlfriend.

    Firefighters turned off the gas.

    The incident was reported April 13. The woman said the man went into her house the night before and also put hydrochloric acid on her clothes. The woman noticed the smell of gas the next morning. ROBBERY, FAIRWAY AVENUE:A 40-year-old man walking in the 19900 block of Fairway said two men robbed him at gunpoint of $40 and a cell phone at about 10:40 p.m. April 8.

    One man pointed a gun to the victim's head. The second punched him in the eye.

    Both suspects were described as having medium complexion, ages 15 to 16, standing 5 feet 6 inches or 5 feet 8 inches and of thin build.

    The victim was walking home from a grocery store. ROBBERY, BENHOFF PARK:A 17-year-old boy said he was robbed by two men shortly before 6 p.m. April 13 at the park, located off Dunham Road. Taken were $50 and a cell phone. The boy said the robbers either attend or did attend the high school. DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, NORTHFIELD ROAD:A 41-year-old woman said friends of her boyfriend opened the trunk of her car to steal illicit drug paraphernalia she was taking to Garfield Heights police.

    The incident occurred outside Neighborhood Family Service Center, 5398 Northfield, on April 13. The woman said the thieves used a second key when the car was parked. ROBBERY, SOUTH AND JACKSON STREETS:A 19-year-old man was robbed shortly after noon April 10, but the man ran toward his house on Kenton Avenue.

    The suspects were described as two black men in their 20s.

    Bedford police brought a tracking dog but it found no suspects.

    The victim said one robber reached into a jacket as if he was grabbing a gun. No gun was seen....
