Business owner drops lawsuit
MAPLE HTS.Benedetto Scaglione, operator of Automotive Specialties, 14800 Granger Road, dropped a civil lawsuit filed to defend alleged building-code violations.
The city cited him on Feb. 18 for having unlicensed vehicles in his lot and for having a business in a nonconforming use in a residential area, his attorney Robert Pelunis said.
A week later, Scaglione sought an order from a judge in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas to produce copies of building code violations issued between 2006-2008, telephone logs, copies of photos kept by the city plus copies of complaints that might have been filed against his business.
The lawsuit named the mayor and City Council members.
The city dropped its complaint, filed in Mayor's Court, March 18. Scaglione dropped his lawsuit March 23.
