Alleged teen knifer has lengthy record
BENTLEYVILLEThe 16-year-old Solon boy who allegedly knifed at least one other boy June 17 in Cleveland Metroparks has been charged with felonious assault and criminal damaging in that case.
The stabbing or stabbings allegedly took place in the South Chagrin Reservation in or near the Quarry Rock picnic area after several teens started an illegal bonfire.
Patricia Oakar, a juvenile court spokesperson, said the boy had a court appearance July 8.
Dianna Kall, Metroparks spokesperson, said Metroparks rangers had initially heard that the boy had been released after the stabbing or stabbings.
However, Ken Lusnia, administrator for Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, said that the boy is locked up in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center.
According to court records, the boy has been involved in 10 juvenile court cases since 2007. His brother, 17, has been involved in five cases since 2004.
Sources said the boy and his older brother used a skateboard to beat up two men in Solon Skatepark in March.
In May, the boy allegedly attacked an 18-year-old woman by smashing her car's windshield with an iron fireplace stand, sending glass into her eyes.
Solon police said the boy and his older brother were also involved in a domestic violence incident within the past four months.
Over the years, initial charges against the brothers have included criminal damaging or endangering, inducing panic, assault, theft, disorderly conduct and aggravated disorderly conduct, according to court records.
However, it's not clear from court records how the 15 cases were disposed. Oakar was not able to provide that information in time for this article.
A juvenile court magistrate, Elizabeth Howe, who has presided over some of the boy's cases, could not be reached for comment. Blackboard jungle
Joseph Regano, Solon Schools superintendent, said he can't say whether the boy charged in the Metroparks stabbing is still in school or has been disciplined....
