RUBBISH COLLECTION & RECYCLING:

Rubbish is collected once a week from the front lawn. Bedford is on an automated recycling program and all rubbish is to be placed in one container and the city will sort it for you. All Bedford Residents are encouraged to recycle, for every ton recycled it saves $27.50 per ton in disposal costs. The following are PROPER RECYCLING PROCEDURES: (in blue bag) Only clear, green and brown bottles and jars. Rinse all items. Remove Caps and Rings. No need to remove lavels. UNACCEPTABLE - Caps on containers, window panes, ceramic, mirrors, drinking glasses, light bulbs.
